Q: Role and Responsibilities at Ovation

A: As CFO at Ovation, I am involved with all financial aspects of our construction, development, and property management operations. This includes budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, investor relations, and ensuring financial compliance across our portfolio. I also play a strategic role in evaluating development opportunities, managing risk, and aligning our financial roadmap with the company’s long-term vision. It’s a unique role that blends analytical rigor with strategic insight, and I’m fortunate to collaborate closely with every department to support Ovation’s continued growth and innovation.

As CFO at Ovation, I’m responsible for leading all accounting and financial operations across our construction, development, and property management businesses. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audit oversight, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. I work closely with our accounting and finance teams to maintain integrity in our financial reporting and with executive leadership to translate financial data into strategic business decisions. My role also involves optimizing our capital structure, managing relationships with lenders and investors, and ensuring we have the financial agility to support growth while maintaining fiscal discipline.

Q: Best Career Advice

A: “Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, be afraid of not learning from them.” In finance, we strive for precision, but perfectionism can hold you back. It shaped my mindset to see every challenge as a learning opportunity.

Q: Your Journey at Ovation

A: My time at Ovation has been both transformative and inspiring. I’ve learned to think beyond numbers, to see financial leadership as a catalyst for creating spaces where people thrive. Ovation’s collaborative culture has also sharpened my leadership: empowering teams, fostering cross-functional alignment, and navigating challenges with resilience. 30 years in public to private practice, from working with the ovation team to inside the ovation family. Being part of a company that actively shapes communities has deepened my sense of purpose.

In finance, we’re often seen as behind-the-scenes operators, but I believe our work has a direct impact on the experience we deliver, both internally and externally. Whether it’s providing clean, timely financial reporting, streamlining processes for our teams, or building trust with investors and partners, I see every interaction as an opportunity to exceed expectations. This value reminds me that excellence isn’t limited to visible roles, it’s about bringing thoughtfulness, clarity, and care to everything we do, every day.

Q: Trend You’re Watching

A: I’m closely watching how interest rate dynamics and inflation trends are influencing capital flows into real estate. From a financial perspective, how we model risk, return, and timing has become even more nuanced, and staying ahead means adapting quickly and modeling with precision. I’m also analyzing the effect the President’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” (H.R. 1), signed into law on July 4, 2025, has on our industry.

Q: Favorite Thing About Las Vegas

A: Las Vegas is a city of reinvention and bold vision, qualities that mirror the energy at Ovation. What I love most is the unique intersection of innovation, diversity, and ambition. There’s a sense here that anything is possible, and that spirit makes it an incredibly exciting place to work and live. Friends I’ve made, community, and opportunities.
