Using an App to Elevate the Resident Experience

Having a sense of community in apartment living enhances both residents’ quality of life as well as their overall experience living there. Partnering with local businesses to host events on-site allows them to meet one another and enjoy social interaction all within the familiar comforts of the property. At Ovation’s ASPIRE brand multi-family luxury communities, we offer the Ovation Lifestyle program, chock full of exciting activities and opportunities for mixing, mingling and general networking through partnerships with Las Vegas vendors. To help residents break out of their comfort zone even further, we will soon be introducing our brand-new Ovation Lifestyle app. This new platform is meant to encourage greater participation, which goes hand in hand as we continue to grow.

Meeting Them Where They Connect

We know that many of our residents are millennials which means using their phone far beyond the capabilities of general calling and texting is second nature. To meet them there, we’re rolling out the Ovation Lifestyle app through a partnership with Flamingo. With a few simple clicks, residents can view the program’s upcoming calendar of activities in the palm of their hand. This helps them see and select what events align with their interests and best fit their schedule. What’s even more is that once they come across one they’d like to attend, a resident can RSVP right through the app.

“As busy working professionals, our residents might not always have the time to sift through the ASPIRE portal or check out a bulletin board notice in our community space,” said Shellie Greer, Director of Ovation Lifestyle. “However, for most of them, their cell phones never leave their side so we believe our new app will make it easier than ever to keep them feeling connected.”

Involvement is a Seamless Process

In the past, our community events lived within our general rent platform. Residents were able to view the event and confirm their attendance while managing other items like their rent. However, thanks to Flamingo, the Ovation Lifestyle-specific app will go above and beyond the traditional. The app is designed to send out a reminder by email the day before followed by a day-of text message to remind them of their RSVP. They can easily integrate the event into their personal calendar, making it a seamless part of their routine.

And just how well the app works is in the data. Flamingo indicates that its general platform is used by over 400,000 units nationwide to book and manage 1,000 events each and every month. Thanks to its ease of use, the app was created to help drive attendance and capitalize on successful event ideas. Additionally, our on-site teams can also save time by downloading and managing guest counts. By simplifying the overall process, getting involved in Ovation Lifestyle is a breeze.

Real-Time Communication and Feedback

Following any upcoming event that we host through Ovation Lifestyle, our new app will send the resident an event survey for their quick feedback. This allows them to share what they enjoyed or didn’t like about the event and let us know what we could do differently (or the same) as we plan out our future calendar. We’re easily able to view all of our ASPIRE properties’ event attributes and guest commentary at once.

Going a step further, there’s also the function for us to sort through this feedback individually to see what types of events are most popular, amongst other findings. On our end, the app even allows for our team to check in the residents for these events as they enter. All of the data that’s collected is then stored on the backend of the platform to help shape our program moving forward.

“Each of these new capabilities lay the groundwork for continuing to scale Ovation Lifestyle to even more ASPIRE properties as they open including X in the coming years that will all utilize the app,” said Greer. “It not only shapes how we plan for events but also ensures that our residents feel like they’re really part of a community.”

Launching next month, the Ovation Lifestyle app will undoubtedly offer a better experience for the program as a whole. With features like RSVP and reminders, residents can not only better plan for their month but treat the events as a part of their regular calendar. The app also allows our team to maximize attendance and curate programming that makes our residents want to become involved, over and over again.
